Raising funds (My first project)

My first project with this foundation is to raise funds for underprivileged students in India. One year, I visited India with my family to see my grandparents. While there, my sister was running a camp with a large group of students, teaching them art and how to express themselves. I noticed that this school had no roof, no proper building, and was essentially a shed under the sun. I thought to myself, how can this environment even be called a school?

Recently, my aunt, who lives in that area, sent me a few pictures and videos of that same school. Five years later, absolutely nothing has changed. They are still in a hut under the sun, located where trash is dumped. This is no environment for students to learn in, especially since they have to endure the extreme heat in summer and the biting cold in winter.

This is why I have made it my goal to raise funds for these students. Currently, I have gathered money from family to fund these kids' transportation to a remote school. The Rotary Club of Gurugram has a public school with a bus service that takes students to their facility. However, with the money I have personally contributed, they can only attend this facility for about a month. I want to raise funds and secure a global grant to help these kids go to this facility every day.

You can see in the video above how the facility looks compared to their current school, which is shown on the right (or below if you are on mobile). I believe that by raising these funds, we can provide a solid education for these kids and give them a chance to learn in a proper environment.

What the public school provides

As I mentioned before, I am raising funds for the monthly bus payment so these students can actually reach the public school. There is no additional fee other than the bus ride. The public school provides everything from uniforms to school supplies. More importantly, it offers a proper learning environment as it is a large building with air conditioning, four walls, and a roof. This is a significant improvement for these students compared to their current shed which is next to a landfill. The school provides an environment where they can learn properly and receive the education they deserve.
