During my visit to an elementary school in India, I worked with 1st and 2nd graders in an interactive lab activity, as well as giving a presentation. I encouraged their creativity by having them design different types of paper planes, making it a fun and engaging way to think outside the box. This hands on approach helped the young students see learning as enjoyable while introducing them to the concept of STEAM. In terms of the presentation, I educated them on various different fields, jobs, and how STEAM is used. Overall I believed they were very excited, especially when we tested their planes. Learning about STEAM in a young age in this world is very beneficial, therefore this experience for them was just an opener to a vast field.
At a high school, I presented to over 200 students from 9th grade and above. My presentation covered the history and evolution of STEAM, along with insights into various industries, job opportunities, and prominent figures in the field. I also shared my personal journey in software development, AI, hardware, and backend websites, building a connection with the students by discussing not only my achievements but also the failures and growth that have shaped my experiences. I encouraged them to seek out further resources to deepen their learning and pursue their own STEAM related goals. One by one we asked them all what they wanted to be when they grew up, and despite some of their challenges, they were extremely passionate about what they wanted to do in life.
